Collect & Keep Evidence

We’re all guilty of it, chucking away a piece of paper we don’t think we’ll need, or not getting detailed receipts for building works.

I see it all the time with landlords undertaking projects themselves, buy refurbish rent.

But when it comes to an EPC, if it can’t be seen, and can’t be evidenced, it doesn’t exist – otherwise we’d all be saying we’ve got internal wall insulation!

There need to be documentary evidence, or photographic evidence for an EPC, sometimes that involves removing a plug socket, or taking off an air vent, but if you are planning on doing some energy improvement works, please make sure you keep paperwork, take in-context photos, with a tape measure for reference to prove that the work was done, and to that property!
